This 250 year old family run inn located between Scarborough and Whitby and offers free Wi-Fi, roaring log fires and a restaurant with an excellent local reputation. Since 1979 the Blacksmiths Arms has been sympathetically and expertly restored to a high standard and is now regarded as one of the area's most charming and popular Inns. One of Britain's few remaining authentic country Inns, the building is located next door to the area's only fully operational Smithy a traditional and fitting source of the inn's moniker. With neighbouring Scarborough and splendid National Park scenery nearby, The Blacksmiths Arms is an ideal place to relax and enjoy comfort, food and excellent Yorkshire hospitality.Bedrooms are fully en-suite, decorated and equipped to a very high standard and including a range of comforting features, such as flat screen televisions, free Wi-Fi and coffeetea making facilities. Four holiday cottages are located behind the main building, all of which are fully equipped and self-contained with en-suite facilities - ideal for a special family getaway. This popular and comfortable hostelry is ideal for everyone. The Dining Room is a charming well appointed Oak Beamed Restaurant with a cosy and intimate atmosphere. A selection of home-made specialities, bar meals and lunches are available every day at both lunch times and evenings. On Sundays the Blacksmiths is the perfect place for Traditional Fare, with three courses served in the Dining Room or courses of your choice in the Lounge. The olde worlde atmosphere and character of the two bars is a fine example of times long gone - in fact very little has changed in these rooms in over two hundred years . On chilly nights, the open fire burns logs from the Duchy forest, sending out the warmth and comfort synonymous with this hostelry. The fine furnishings and traditional furniture offer a unique and rare example of a traditional, well preserved English Country Inn.Situated in the attractive village of Cloughton, the inn is located just 4 miles from the centre of the popular seaside resort of Scarborough. Here, an assortment of traditional coastal attractions can be found, including the town's Victorian era pier, a range of restaurants and pubs, the popular beach and a selection of theatres, cinemas and historical buildings to enjoy. A short drive north of Cloughton will take you to the beautiful and historic coastal town of Whitby, another of North Yorkshires coastal treasures, as well as the delightful village of Robin Hood's Bay, famed for its dramatic sea views. A journey inland provides the perfect opportunity to explore the popular North York Moors, offering miles of interrupted hills and valleys with hundreds of footpaths providing interesting hiking trails set against beautiful natural scenery.
